Some good gigs coming up, including The Wales Millennium Centre on March the 3rd, and The Secret Supper Club on March 15th, in their own words, “Our desire is simple – to host imaginative dining events in the South Wales area…we look for new and creative acts to help the event go with a swing.” Visit the site for more details

This past year has been a very busy one indeed, what with winning first place in the Eisteddfod, playing at the Welsh proms, Welsh Baftas, many performances as the first musical residency in The Welsh Assembly, performing for the second time on S4C and appearing on Radio Wales with Jamie Owen. Also meeting and playing at the same festival as one of my guitar heroes Thomas Leeb, was a very personal joy. Happy to say the future’s looking bright, there’s still a Breast Cancer Wales gig and an appearance at the Dublin Castle in Camden left for ’12, with a Wales Millenium Centre slot booked next year, and many more gigs and video shoots in the works, so keep an eye out! In the meantime, here’s the new video from Doomsday Productions, of Zombie Pirates

Had a great time playing live on Radio Wales on Jamie Owen’s Sunday morning show. First song followed by a chat is at 38 minutes in, and then another song at 1hr15minutes and 40 seconds.
After doing some filming in the Welsh Assembly, Sherman Theater and an S4C performance, I’m glad to say there’ll be some great new videos to post to the site. Also there’s an upcoming performance on Secret Sounds, a brand new web based programme exploring the Cardiff music scene, and I’m excited to say I’ll be the first musician featured. So watch this space

Had a great day today performing a new original composition from the upcoming second album, ‘Arosa’, on S4C’s ‘Prynhawn Da’. Also pleased to say I’ll be performing at the Welsh Baftas. What with the Eisteddfod win, playing at the National Assembly for Wales“>Welsh Assembly (last performance this Saturday!) and Welsh Proms I’m feeling very patriotic this Summer. S4C performance here , with the interview starting 7 and half minutes in, song at 12

I was recently asked to appear on Jamie Owen’s morning show on Radio Wales, and performed Zombie Pirates and Gwenllian along with a brief interview. Here’s the first part, with Zombie Pirates followed by a chat with Jamie about the album and musical inspirations (i.e. hours and hours of watching youtube).

Spanish medley is indeed what it says on the tin, a medley of some of my favourite Spanish tunes to play. When I started learning the guitar I was very typical of pretty much what every boy my age did, started with power chords, playing green day and blink 182 etc, before moving on to blues and then being devoted to learning every note of every Led Zeppelin song. Until one day, I saw El Mariachi, and discovered my new musical obsession.

Kevin’s Room, following on from the self explanatory song naming habit of Spanish Medley ( I swear I have more imagination than my songs titles would imply) was just something I started playing about with in the front room of the album’s producer, Kevin, whilst he was fiddling with the settings on the computer (an important task that goes over my head and takes up about 80% of all recording sessions). Thinking that we’d stumbled upon something worth looking into, we quickly got to recording the improvised tune before I could forget it.

    1. Dewi, you played beautifully at our wedding on Saturday and we wanted to thank you and will recommend you to anyone and everyone. We thought the mix of Spanish music, and your original take on classical and modern music was so fitting for the event and loved every minute. Thank you.

    2. Hey Dewi, caught you at the Old Library last night and bought a CD. It was a superb evening – a privilege to hear you explore the guitar. I’ll keep in touch and hope to see you at a gig in Chelsea soon. All the best
